Lighting novelties by beloved Nordic brands

As the days grow shorter and darkness settles in earlier, lighting becomes essential in creating a cozy, inviting home atmosphere. With winter fast approaching, now is the perfect time to rethink how we light our spaces.

The right lamps not only brighten rooms but can also transform the mood, making interiors feel warm, stylish, and welcoming. Whether you're looking to add a statement floor lamp, upgrade your bedside lighting, or introduce a gentle glow in the living room, choosing the right lamps can make all the difference.

This season, let’s explore how fresh lighting choices can make your home a haven of comfort and style.

Kite by New Works is a work of proportion and abstraction, blending pure and geometric silhouettes with smooth, textured materiality. The same structural elements are adapted into three different sizes, each echoing the other like a tale that alters subtly with each retelling. Delicate taping contours the silhouettes, a technical refinement that enriches depth and contrast. Whether displayed together or separately, the Kite Pendant Lamps serve as a luminous sculptural element.

Originally designed in 1954, the Bagdad portable lamp by Gubi is a brilliantly offbeat showcase of Mathieu Matégot’s material affinity with perforated metal. A multifaceted, cubist construction with a comet-like tail, the Bagdad’s sculptural design has proven timeless in its playful uniqueness. The new edition scales down the size by half and adds a further element of versatility by making it portable. The small brass ball at the top of the lamp was solely decorative in Matégot’s design, but now functions as a touch-activated dimmer mechanism in the portable edition.
